Aspherical lenses in general

The aspherical lens differs from the spherical lens by shape of its surface. This is not defined by a form parameter like
radius of a sphere. At the aspherical lens this is no longer the case. As already mentioned, the determining parameter
are defined by several form parameter, mostly in form of constants. In most of the cases such a shape occurs by rotation
of a conic section around one of its principal axis. In that case an ellipse, a parabola or a hyperbola could serve as a
basis. Description of such a curve can be effected in Cartesian coordinates, in general equation form or in direct polarcoordinate
notation. Form, which is mostly used is an axial symmetrical curve, which rotates around its optical axis and
with it also often around symmetrical axis.
General formula is as follows:

Aspherical lenses for illumination purposes

We offer aspherical lenses, aspherical side blank mould, back side plan or with radius, ground and polished. It goes without saying, that we are able to offer these lenses coated and hardened.
Standard diameters range from 15 - 70 mm.
For complicated tasks a diameter from 3 - 100 mm is also possible.

Aspherical lenses for imaging systems

We grind and polish aspherical lenses corresponding to customer’ s requirements for imaging systems or special applications.
Diameters range here up to 180 mm. Aspherical lenses are produced and coated by most modern production
machines. It is possible to document deviation of the aspherical curve on different measuring machines.
Here, tolerances up to 0,6 µ P-V have to be achieved.
